Meet Dr Dewald Vermeulen
Dr Dewald Vermeulen is a specialist anaesthesiologist with an interest in orthopaedic procedures, with special focus on arthroplasty (including same day/ERAS replacements), pelvic, general trauma and cardiology (both adult and paediatric)-related procedures. He serves as an Honorary Consultant at the University of Pretoria, contributing to both clinical practice and academic support within these fields.
His approach to anaesthesia is shaped by personal experiences that led him to pursue this profession, with the intention of improving patient care and ensuring a safer, more reassuring experience for those undergoing surgery. His professional interests include regional and sedation anaesthesia with novel approaches to perioperative pain control. He is also dedicated to continual development and education of the medical fraternity, whether it relates to nursing staff, students or registrars. He has a passion for patient advocacy and safety in the perioperative period.

Dr Henroe Janse van Rensburg is a specialist anaesthesiologist dedicated to safe, compassionate, and patient-specific care. He also serves as an Honorary Consultant at the University of Pretoria.
Dr Janse van Rensburg's special interests include neurosurgical anaesthesia (adult and paediatric), cardiac anaesthesia (adult and paediatric), regional anaesthesia, and chronic pain management.
His passion for anaesthesiology took root during his medical internship and has grown ever since into a career defined by continuous professional development and a commitment to innovation in the field. He finds immense joy in his work and approaches every patient with the same guiding principle: safe, compassionate, and individually tailored anaesthetic care.
